Hi guys...
I am quite curious to know what lighting techniques and filters the production crew for the Oprah show use. You will notice how perfect they make people look (ie no shadow, no wrinkles, no shiny light effect , not even on somone with spectacles on) , and this is quite a contrast to most other TV shows.
Also , if you happen to watch an american soapie and a South African one , you tend to notice the differences in lighting techniques. Here we have the shiny face effect , white light effect reflecting on eye, etc
Same with our Live news broadcasts , colour , lighting etc are completely different.
Are we saffers missing a trick in studio lighting or is it just budget constraints ?
Look forward to comments on this topic.
P.S I am not an Oprah fan or a soapie fan....just curious at the technology behind it...
