Hi all

I’m building a pc and I need advice on how many fans and what setup I should have. I have the p400s case, I’ve chosen to put 2x140mm Fractal Design Low noise in the front and the standard 120mm at the back as the exhaust. Should I rather add 3x120mm in the front and 2x140mm/120mm on top and have the 120mm at the back? I’m not sure if going for another CPU cooler is better as the ryzen 3 2200g is pretty good I herd.Im not going to overlock my pc at the moment.

Also have a

Rx570 gpu
750w psu
500gb ssd
8g ram(2x4)2666mhz
2 x 500gb HDD
B450 plus MB

For case fans, it's about maintaining positive pressure in your case. So your first choice is probably the best, where you have more air being "pushed in" than being "sucked out". Excess air is moved through the exhaust fan, and also through every other opening in the case that may not be obvious. This helps prevent dust build-up over the long run.

If you have negative pressure, i.e. with more air coming in than out, air and dust gets forced IN through all those holes.

So for your setup, 2x140 in and 1x120 out is plenty.

Thank you very much for your advice and response that’s excellent. Much appreciated
