Option Card Has Crashed - What Now?

Just spoke to Pedro. It looks like it only has an effect on the cards with older firmware, and only on the JHB cells, and the new cells in Bloem (these are linked to the JHB cells).
They have even got the guys in Germany looking at the problem.

I am in Bloem at the moment, was having a problem yesterday afternoon, and evening, and then it started working fine, and today, so far so good.

Just something that I have noticed whilst going around from place to place, after around two hours connect to 3G the card crashes - anyone else experienced that around the country at all - I have noticed it in Jo'burg, Bloem, Cape Town, and Durban?

Also not able to receive SMS at present, but sending is OK - not sure if it's related to the current problem or not?

We've not had reports like this before, except for Alan in Germany who consistently got disconnected after 2 minutes.

Two potentials:

1) Heat - Maybe try cooling the system down with an external fan.
2) Memory leak of some sort - You can monitor via the task manager.

I'm groping in the dark here, but both the above are well know for "time-based" faults.

I just had a call from Vodacom Tech support, telling me that I need to go into a voda shop with my card to get the firmware software upgraded.
Is it not posable for us to download it and do the upgrade?
I am waiting for a mail on how to do the upgrade.

All,

Firstly, can you work at the moment? Just got off a plane and before I left got a SMS that the problems are resolved.

I'll check up on the firmware upgrade process and let you know.
