What's the better option, iPad or Android tablet (10")?

Required: 3G version, Office software (eg Kingsoft Office) and Adobe Acrobat, Ease of use

Not important: Camera(s)

My opinion: Android - reason: free apps available.

PS. Do not turn this into a fanboi thread - I need a simple answer.

I am also currently looking at a tab, and I have chosen a Android Tab 10.1.

1. I just got a Android phone.
2. It can connect with my TV.
3. I do not have any other Apple products.
4. I am a Linux fanboi and will root it one day i am bored.

What did you choose?

Do you have a preference towards either one of the OS'?
Budget?

Unlimited.

I'd go for the new Asus Transformer Pad Infinity.

iPad for one major reason retina display. With a 10" unit something that is consistently comfortable reading is great and if a budget isn't at question the retina display is a game changer at that size. iWorks is also bloody good (at least the limited amount of time I spent with it on an iPad)

You created a thread for this? :D I see the fanbois taking over...

I already agree with your preference- and perhaps something like an Asus Transformer Infinity will suit your needs...

Wildcard question- have you considered a Win 8 tablet PC, such as the Dell XPS 12?

I have an Ipad and android phone.

I love the Ipad. It has a simple and easy interface. it never crashes. there are loads of free apps available. I use my ipad as a browser, to watch movies, check mail, play some games and it really works for me. If you want a convenient tool to do these kind of things I would recommend it above the android offers as it is just so much slicker.

If you want to mess around with all sorts of options, upgrade your OS, do things the ipad cannot then by all means go for an android tablet. The android tablets will allow you to do more but the interface is not as slick and so you will need to get your hands dirty.

If you plan on trying to replace your laptop with a pad. go for one of the transformer type machines as the plain pads suck for doing proper work on in my opinion.

Apple is more restrictive. but the bonus of this is that things work better together. If you like spending tech time with your gadgets to get the most out of them then get an android device.

I've got a Nexus 7 and a (few) iPads and there's no shortage of free apps on either platform. That said even paid apps are typically affordable on either platform.

Huh?

You already have one of each or at least access to em. Either way need more info on likes and dislikes to place recommendation. Like data needs and so on. Personally I prefer Android as I am more technical and find iOS to limiting(Read: stuck in my ways) But know plenty of people that would find iOS way better as they do not like fiddling.

Oh and Kingsoft Office is on both, but I would recommend OfficeSuite Pro on Android or Numbers & Pages on iOS.
