If your flight's ever delayed overnight. Here's a hint that worked for me. Went into the M&B at the airport as I had to spend the night there. They supplied me with a bottomless cup of coffee for R13. Also buy a large choc chip cookie..for R13..the combination will definitely keep you going the entire night. And to top it all..you'll have a warm comfortable seat..and a power supply for your laptop.

Another tip - buy an axxess voucher at any Engen or Pick 'n Pay - and you will be able to have internet access with the voucher credentials, should your laptop have wifi.

Owners of older laptops can either buy a compatible wifi dongle, or just forget about it and enjoy the coffee, cookie and relax for a while.

Don't forget to pick up your free copy of ..THE STAR..CITIZEN..THE TIMES..at the check in counters..

And for those of you who prefer Woolies food..there's also a small Woolies that's open till 10..shop you can shop for your favourite "savings" to nibble on..e.g. buy 2 baby cabbages
and get 1 free...or whatever..

The_Librarian, can you really access the IS hotspots with a regular Axxess ADSL prepaid voucher? Is it still R70 / gb then?

Vouchers available from Pick n' Pay and Engen can be used at Axxess hotspots nationwide. Simply enter the username and password from the till slip in the username and password field and select Axxess as the service provider from the drop down list. This is an easy and convenient way to get online immediately without having to use your credit card.

Please be aware that due to difference in cost price between ADSL bandwidth and WiFi bandwidth, available bandwidth for this voucher is reduced accordingly. 1GB of bandwidth will result in 130MB available after login on to the hotspot. We therefore recommend not using this voucher for normal ADSL access, but only for WiFi access, since this is a permanent reduction

You must have been fun to sit next to on the flight the next day! :)

If you're with MWEB you get free 5hrs of WiFi pm at airports, Mugg and Beans and other locations too.

I was almost in this predicament on Tuesday night. Took over 2 hours to get from Centurion to airport. Arrived at airport at 19h21 for a 19h40 flight. Lat flight to PE... There was only one SAA counter open and after begging for a boarding pass, he told me that I could have it and RUN like hell as the doors were closing. I ran until I got to about gate D5, waved at the D7 staff and promptly walked - I was dead! Boarded plane, sat down and spent the next 15 minutes trying to get my breath back.

I fully expected to sleep over and had targeted the Keg as my 'sleepover' site! Fortunately my Telkom 3G works very nicely at the airport so I would not have been alone...
