This is probably aimed specifically at people in a Java dev environment, so brace yourself. If you're in management or have a good understanding of how this works, I would really appreciate your feedback.
The basic question is, how does a software development / consulting company become an Oracle partner , both in terms of the amount of certified developers as well as using / recommending Oracle software.
I currently work for a company that gives monthly cash bonuses to developers over and on top of their monthly salaries for being Microsoft Gold level certified (Within reason - the devs have to keep their qualifications up to date by writing new exams from time to time)
However we see an increasing of Java devs being employed and in order to retain them, as well as keep with the company policy on incentives, the company is considering a similar scheme for having an Oracle certification (Certified Programmer).
Now, I suppose that there must be some sort of kickback / discount from Microsoft, since the company is a Microsoft Gold Partner.
My question is, how would we achieve something like this in terms of the Oracle certifications / partner network?
--Number of employees certified?
--Joining Oracle Partner network?
--Java 7 or 8 certification?
Would appreciate the feedback / comments on this one.
