I dont wanna go and repartition my whole drive, do u really HAVE TO install it too C: ?

THANKS!

Is there not a advance install? can't check now since steam wants to update.

don't seem so.

Use partition Magic 8.x to resize your C:\ without breaking windows.

And yes, Steam is installed into C:\Program Files\Steam -> Anything steam related will need to go underneath its folder structure

You *could* try to install Steam to another drive, which will allow the game(s) to install to the other drive. just remember to backup your current steam games first

just copy your steam folder over to another hard drive and run die steam.exe in the steam folder. no need to reinstall or anything. steam will reconfigure everything.

so if you dont have any other games and just want to install orangebox, download latest steam install from steampowered:

http://cdn.steampowered.com/download/SteamInstall.msi

if you cant find a install to option then let it install to default directory. after install and steam updated and everything is up and runing, close steam, make sure its not runing in background, the just go and cut that steam folder and paste it onto your new or bigger HDD, then run that steam.exe and wait for it to startup. after that install orange box.

thats how i do it and backup my games, and i have over 100GB's worth of steam games installed.

hope this helps.
