Orange ISP launch in SA set for 2015

I wonder if they will handle warranty on devices previously purchased from their online store?

They'll probably handle it, but send it overseas. I don't think any of their devices are SA stocked imports
 
Is there place for a new ISP?

I mean no offence, but Mweb afrihost telkom and Web Africa seem to completely dominate the market then CrystalWeb came along, but reading their thread.... I don't know they are not really a threat to these bigger all ready established ISP, why would Orange be any different?

Suspect they coming here for the money to be made. South African's don't complain, and as long as you promise to fix your issue "soon" you can string along customers for months while they pay full monthly subs.

You'd be silly not to get into the business.
 
That "soon" now where have I heard that before..... Ahhhh
 
There were whispers of them possibly wanting to partner with CellC at one stage not too long ago.

From what i can remember of the article a while back is that with everything going on at CellC, Orange was not going to directly approach them about going into partnership will just put it the idea out there that they are willing to enter into one. This was an article i read earlier in the year and it could have been on MyBB but not too sure. All i know is that they wanted properly enter the SA market and this looks to be it now.
 
I had a chat to one of the guys here in Jhb earlier this year at their warehouse and he said they were taking small steps to eventually rival the big 4 operators. Will be awesome if they could shake up the market.
 
Is this Orange going to be another ISP? I know someone who got a Nexus 5 through an orange.co.za so assuming it is the same.

On another note take a look at this website. Are they another Telco coming in to SA? It says RSA coming soon. http://www.paratustelco.com/
 
Their online store was a horrible experience for me. Took 3 weeks for my EFT to show and only after calling their call centre in Russia 5 times did I finally get them to acknowledge that they had received the money. By then I'd gotten my phone elsewhere and so got a refund.

I think you're confusing South Africans, with Afrihost customers.
 
i used the online store a few times... the delays in delivery wasnt too nice.... i had understood from the guy in UK, that they would be setting up warehouse in joburg to improve shippings?
maybe cape is more mellow place for it :)
or maybe still coming this side too
 
Used their online store once. Something I needed was on a 45% less sale so grabbed it. Pretty painless experience apart from the paying for it part of course :D

Personally, I don't really see the point of a brick & mortar store these days. But if it improves their service and shipping times etc. then cool.
 
Maybe i will buy from them now , much to look forward to in 2015 :)
