Guys, don't use the orbit downloader for big downloads. I just downloaded an ubuntu ISO and its stuck at 99%. Refuses to download the last 200kb. i.e. 700mb down the drain. This is the third time Orbit has done this (Different urls)

I was hoping that they fixed it in this version but the bug is still there. Back to FDM I guess...

Sounds like the server you used does not support resumes? First thing I check when starting a download is whether the server supports resume, otherwise I look for another source.

Orbit has been great so far (except for the fact that each times it checks for updates even though I disabled it, slightly annoying).

Have you tried copying a new url for your download and editing the properties of the existing download and then continue the download again?

I sent in a bug report...but quite honestly I can't risk using a d/l manager that keels over at 99%...even if its just on 1 out of 100 downloads.

Nope its not the server. (ftp.mirror.ac.za supports resuming). The other 2 where this happened also supported resume. The server appears to accept the connection and then orbit just loops.

HavocXphere, might there not be another cause for the download failure?
Might be....but I wouldn't know what. Last time I had this problem I fired up FDM and it downloaded fine...so I'm inclined to blame orbit.

It just loops through the 99 retries and then gives up.
