I have an order for a telkom line outstanding now for 2 years. Just phoned them. They told me I should wait.

I found it to be rather funny.

hehe i waited 18months for ADSl at our umhlanga store.

When they finally did, they installed 2 lines (2 4meg lines) claiming we ordered twice. Common sense did not prevail.

Anyway we kept both, will be combining them later.

Nothing new.

Today is my 17 month anniversary since I ordered my line. Tried calling today to try and find out when it will be installed and got the standard responses of either "no date available", "31 August-should there be no unforseen circumstances" or "no lines available"

I pity the people in the office complex that's being built on the vacant lot next to my property. At things currently stand they may not have any lines for their patrons. It should be good for me though, when Telkom has a lot of angry companies shouting they may actually get their heads out of their asses and do some work. This would mean I may actually get a line.

They used to take action when they had more than 10 outstanding orders for a exchange. We used to order 10 lines and once we had a install date cancell 9 of the orders again. This worked great for a while:)

Shocking really, but frankly nothing surprizes me anymore of the big green money making machine.
