which service provider is registering these domains? I saw the list of accredited registrars but most of these dont have it listed on their websites yet. Some have it but their whois doesn't appear to function. when trying to register any new domain, it says the domain is taken.

Lemme just hitch this on here, since I expect Wayne or someone like that in the know to bear down. I have two .org.za domains - avril and devilliers. What does this mean for the recent changes? Do I have to do anything?

OP: I hope you don't mind me putting my question in here too - I think the answers will be related.

@virtualk, this is from the Registry
**Org.Za will enter General Availability on 3 September 2014, resulting in new domain name registrations being allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.**

Basically registrations have bee frozen until the 3 September as ZACR has taken over the running of the TLD

@GreGorGy, Thanks :-) , also from the Registry
**How do I update my existing Org.Za domain names during the transition period?
The only way to update an Org.Za domain name is to transfer it to a ZACR Accredited Registrar and have the update performed.**

I hope this answers your questions

Thanks Wayne. A few more...

If I don't want to move or update or anything, what do I do? Safely nothing? Will I find myself allocated to a registrar beyond my control?

You probably right in that you should "do nothing for now", my guess is that all domains will fall under the "ZACR / UniForum" registrar when live and then these can be transferred to an accredited Registrar of your choice, same as what happened with .co.za

I don't quite understand how some of these changes have been introduced before the AGM - which appears on the ZaDNA site to be set for the 20th of August. The last indication I had on org.za changes was the Internet Society SA chapter email on it about a year ago. I see there was a further call for comment in July this year but it doesn't quite fit.
