I have a MP4 with a micro sd card in too and if you switch it on you have a choice of the following:

internl media
external media
artist
album
genre

and a few other options.

if i plug it into my pc it shows me the 2 drives with the songs and videos on each one but how do i put songs into genres or artists or albums, do i have to do this on my pc with each song in its own file or what?

Baie Dankie and for the english speaking peoples, thank you.

You put your files in external(sd) or internal.

Your general folder format should look like:
Artist ----> album ---> track...with all your tracks' tagged with correct genre.

i use both. i have had this thing for a few yrs now and was sure it did work like that before but lately i have found that i have to go look for the song from the same band whereas if they were tagged properly it would be easier to find.

wayne,
look at your mp3 files in windows explorer, then right click any one of them and select the summary tab, then click on advanced.
you are now looking at the id3 tag info for the file in question, and you can edit these fields as you see fit. check that the songs are tagged properly by album name, artist and genre, and hopefully your mp4 player will do the correct thing and arrange them as they should be.

if doesnt harm things if you put your music into the correct folder/directories either normally, makes for easier housekeeping

ok i did that and the advanced thing shows me ticks in all the boxes thats all.
