A bit newer one now;
Katy Perry - The One That Got Away
vs
Tiffany Alvord & Chester See - The One That Got Away

I prefer the Cover, obviously.

Also, one that has been much debate recently;
The Cranberries - Zombie
vs
Bad Wolves - Zombie

In this case nothing compares to the original, so much so that the only truly enjoyable part of the cover is the sampling from the original.

Edit: Useless info added

Song - Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon

Original - Neil Diamond

Cover - Urge Overkill

Prefer - toss-up. Didn't know about the original till after Pulp Fiction was a thing. The cover is pretty faithful to the original - I end up listening to them interchangeably.

Song - Sweet Jane

Original - Velvet Underground

Cover - Cowboy Junkies

Prefer - the cover (another one where the original was before my time - didn't realise the cover was a cover).

Running Up That Hill. I prefer the cover.

Original: Kate Bush.

Cover: Placebo
Placebo's album of cover versions this track is on has some gold on it - Bigmouth Strikes Again (The Smiths), Daddy Cool (Boney M), Jackie (Sinead), Where Is My Mind (The Pixies), 20th Century Boy (T-Rex) - well worth seeking out.

True Colors Original - Cyndi Lauper

Phil Collins

Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick

Honestly this is just a good song overall. My favourite is definitely Phil Collins, but I really like both the others.
