Hi guys

I'm in need of a good Orthopedic surgeon. I think I tore a ligament when I had the bike accident. I need someone that is contracted in to Medical aids and doesn't need a cash up front visit (I have medical aid for this damn it :D)

My knee is sore on the outside of my left knee, thought it will go away as it might have just been a sprain. But that doesn't seem to be the case as the pain is still the same even almost a month after the accident.

Maybe someone with knowledge knows if it is or not.

The outer side of the knee, if you feel it with your fingers just south of the knee cap there is some kind of a bump aka joint. Now the pain is right on that joint and only if my knee is pushing outwards. Now walking is fine, but if I sleep on my back and my left leg is pulled up slightly and to the left I wake up in massive pain :(

I had my son at Dr I De Wilde at Wilgeheuwel Hospital last year when he broke his collar bone (also a bike accident), and he did a good job. Medical aid paid for the whole op. I did pay for a part of the first consultation though. Going back today to organise taking the plate out.

If at all possible, would you pls be so kind as to get me his office number ?
I would like to find out if my medical aid will cover the full first consultation :o

Dr Attie Cloete 011 278 8397 / 8790

A good one closeby.

I dont have the contact details, nor can I remember his name, but the bloke at Medi-Clinic in Northmead Benoni handled my tumour op in my leg and it has been perfect ever since. The scar is barely visible and he was very, very efficient. I reckon if you call them up they will be able to put you in touch with him...

Benign or Malignant?

Your health OK?

You medical aid should be able to give you the names of specialists in your area who re contracted in to medical aid

Always wondered about plates etc, should one have them removed? Reason I ask is the damn cold weather makes my wrist ache :(

With orthopedic surgeons you want someone who is too busy to take you.;)

I know a good one in Pta...but I reckon thats going to be a lot of traveling and the dude is also hectically expensive.

I have one in PTA also, if all else fails I'll go there.
The Dr. in PTA is Dr. van de Bout

I can vouch for him as he did my knee a couple of years ago ;)
