Heyup

Anybody able to get OS/2 Warp v4 up and running in Virtualbox?

I tried, but can't get further than the second stiffy.

Warp 3 also the same.

Either Virtualbox or VMWare, not M$ Virtual PC, thanks :)

I would guess that the reason for this is the alleged security that stops people and programs from accessing hardware directly, in windows will cause this. Remember OS/2 is an operating system, this means it needs total access to hardware.

But the real question, is OS/2 still used by folk today ?

I haven't loaded OS/2 since 2.0 (before Warp). I still have the diskettes for OS/2 1.0 (286 version without Presentation Manager). Maybe it's time to see if it'll install in a vm...

i would so love to play with OS/2. During the time of Win3.1/95, I remember reading SA Computer Buyer and drooling over it. If I knew it worked over VM, I would try it for sure.

I will try again - seeing that Innotek Virtualbox's bumped up a higher version, and let you guys know.

@ milomak - if you've got the bandwidth to spare, head over to http://www.ecomstation.com/ and have a look around. There also is a demo CD which you can download (<70Mb) and play around with.
