Many people are concerned when they see a lot of their memory being used in modern operating systems, like Windows Vista/7, OS X and Linux.

It's a good thing if memory is being used, that's what it's there for. Your OS is caching stuff into it as necessary, it speeds up your tasks.

Don't worry, if memory is needed it can be dynamically re-assigned and reclaimed so please don't worry about that.

Cool - I did the check on memory and found under processes only about 200MB being used. However, when I go to the performance tab about 70% used??

Suspect a service might have leaked, had the same issue with a early beta version of cFosSpeed. Hopefully your move to Mint works out.

Well said. When I see that Windows 7 / Ubuntu has filled my 4GB RAM up, I know why it feels so fast. My PC always feel a little slow just after startup because the RAM is still empty. Precaching rocks.
