Oscars 2022 highlights: The most bizarre moment

Will Smith might have won the best actor Oscar at the 94th Academy Awards but his big night was overshadowed by a bizarre unscripted moment when he came on stage and apparently punched presenter Chris Rock in the face. Chris Rock had come on stage to introduce the best documentary feature when he made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, being in a sequel to ‘G.I. Jane’ due to her close-cropped haircut. Pinkett Smith has talked openly about losing her hair due to alopecia. She has been suffering from a hair loss condition since last year. Following this, Will strode to the stage and hit Chris and then screamed “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****ng mouth".
 
Usually ripping on someones wife, especially illness related is off limits. So i Kinda get that. I would do the same. however the toxic level of Jada's relationship with Will makes the whole thing just seem off balance. Also Chris Rock, he is offensive, get over it.

There’s better ways to respond though. A more correct approach would be to suck it up at the time and then whine and moan on Twitter and Instagram until Chris Rock gets canceled.

I actually find it refreshing that it was a quick PK... the "twitter rant and cancel" thing is tiring.... either way will will come out looking like the nob here.

Oh yeah, PKs should become the norm at awards ceremonies. Not just for jokes. Even if you disagree with the winners, you should be allowed to get on stage and rumble.

It’ll make things more relevant in this day and age
 
Glad to see Coda won the Best Picture this year. I wasn't expecting it but I really enjoyed it and I gave it a high score. I thought it would be Power of the Dog though.

Other takes:

- Mitchells vs the Machines got robbed by stupid Encanto.
- Dune doesn't deserve that many Oscars.
- The Worst Person in the World should have won Best International
- Summer of Soul deserved to win Best Documentary

Biggest surprise was Chastain. Thought she'd be the last to be considered.
