You look at the outcome, was there a criminal behind the door? Yes? Self-defense. No? Clearly premeditated murder.

All the circumstances, factors, intentions, etc, leading up to that are irrelevant. The law too.

NPA TO LODGE OSCAR PISTORIUS APPEAL TODAY

JOHANNESBURG - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has announced it will file its appeal against the conviction and sentencing of Oscar Pistorius today.

It says the appeal is based on a question of law.

“The merits of the NPA’s argument in this regard are contained in the papers that were filed with the registrar of the North Gauteng High Court today,” spokesman Nati Mncube said.

He said following this move, the matter is now sub judice and consequently the NPA will not discuss the matter publicly until judgment is delivered in court.

Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide after shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp four times through a bathroom door.
