Hi

We have a number of employees that work in our workshops. We need to set up the workshop phone (standard Telkom landline, through a PABX) so that no matter what number they dial, it will always go through to their supervisor's number, or whatever number we specify (internal or national call).
Does anyone know of a function like this? I imagine if it was anywhere it would be in the phone management system that Telkom installs at places of business? Or a third-party solution would do too.

Thanks

Edit: I see i posted this in the wrong forum.

Seems that you want to play a prank? Or find out if someone is calling when they shouldn't.

What PABX do you have, we will need more info.

If only. We're trying to cut down on our R9k p/m phone bill. :(

I'm back at the office tomorrow. I'll have a look at the model number, thanks.

Many routers with VOIP capability give you this opportunity

on a normal home phone you can setup a pin requirement, before calling is permitted.
If it is not essential for them to make calls, but they need to receive calls... Try find out if it can be done with an extention in an office environment.

also...

Are there any international calls on the bills, but no supposed need to call other countries? If yes, contact telkom, someone could be "borrowing" your line.

Rather assign speed dial example extension 5911(CEO PA), 5912(Durban offices) etc. Enable call restricting(barring) - whoever has the right pin unblocking code can make external calls or alternatively let them dial switchboard / pa to connect calls if it is business related.

As Venomous mentioned someone can be borrowing your line I had an issue like that whereby only foreign countries would show on my itemlized billing amounting to R15 grand, every 2 seconds a call would show up

Thanks guys, i'll look at the PIN solution, seems the easiest. We are using an Opticon switchboard and Teltrace Office Pro so i am sure it should be able to handle that.

Cheers
