Hi all,

Want to register a co.za site.

Havn't done this before.

Please advise as to how, when, where, costs etc.

http://www.imaginet.co.za/domainsearch.asp
Seems sorta reasonable for R325?

How do I point the new domain to another website e.g. my absa hosted site.

TIA

Quite easy

Step 1

Go to www.everydns.net and create an account there....this is where you will control your websites DNS records

Step 2

get the NS addresses from there.

Step 3

Go to http://co.za

Download and complete the application form (copy unknown fields from what other domains have filled in)

Step 4

Send it back to Uniform and voila ...... just have to wait for invoice and go and pay it

Step 5

Enjoy your domain

Total cost ----- R150 for domain registration

Hope that helps

Sweet [:D]

How do I point the domain to my absa pages? I suppose I'll have to have a host set up in order to the redirecting?

Edit: Let me guess first. I give co.za the NS addresses. Register the domain with co.za. Once thats done I can add the domain to my EveryDNS account and make the domain point to my absa home pages' IP address? Hmmm ... on the otherhand I could only point it to the http://myweb.absa.co.za IP address and not http://myweb.absa.co.za/james.mclaren/ ??

Edit2:

OK I see that EveryDNS does offer a domain redirect option to a foldered webpage! [}:)] <- Horns

Have fun and enjoy!!!!!!

Just nb ..... may take 24 - 36 hours to propogate the info to all DNS servers around the world

So give it some time also any changes you make @ everydns will have to repeat the above process
