Hey there,

I bought the iBurst Play special to test out and sofar it's been working quite well for me... my problem is paying R200 for 500mb where there are some ISP's selling a 1gig for R70?

Now i need the mobility of iburst, so that rules out ADSL.

What i need to know is there anyway of using a different ISP over the Iburst connections?

Sorry if this is a repeated query!!!!

The per gig price on ADSL isn't the same as iBurst, but there are no other ISP's besides iBurst themselves. As far as pricing goes at least...

Many people seem to forgot that on iBurst that cost includes your service rental (line rental on ADSL). To accurately compare ADSL ISP's with iBurst (and 3G for that matter) you need to add your ADSL line rental and your phone rental charges to that per GB cost.

That only applies if you do not have a phone line to start with.

He's talking about the ADSL line rental, but I know what people are going to say....

Regardless of what should happen, to get an ADSL line, you have to pay ADSL line rental, so it's useless comparing ADSL ISP's to iBurst.

You still have to pay for it though?

Look at it any way you want my ADSL package still costs R145 per month less than the iburst 3,5GB package, is far more stable and reliable as well as 4 times the speed.
At the moment the ADSL package I have is capped at +6GB and vouchers from Axxess cost me R70 per GB.

I know you are now going to come back about the 64kbps iburst has after cap, but even though I thought I'd miss it I do not since when I want something I want it in a few minutes and not wait till the next day for it to download.

You can't compare iburst to ADSL since the only reasons for getting iburst is if you need mobility or your line does not support ADSL.

Whoa, it's okay :) I'm sure everyone knows ADSL is usually a better option now, just comparing per gig costs from ISP's to iBursts total price isn't really right.

To me it is "right" since it's cheaper, faster, more reliable as well as been less stressful not having to deal with that incompetent company and it's debit orders.

Besides the fact that with the expensive iburst modem you are tied to "that" company with no option to change ISP.
