Other ISP's offering mywireless

Dean, I see you removed your reply about the 6 month contract. I thought that was too good to be true. This news is nothing new. We knew about it already (the -R150 option).

My query is, can I buy a modem from you from today and then starting using MyWireless when? (the same day or what? ) please explain the (unbundled) process for everyone

Also since you seem to have all the info, when will we get real pay-as-you-go?

Sorry about the 6 Month Contract, you can buy the modem today if you want, you then have to apply for a username and password which will take 1 week or less hopefuly.

As far as the pay as you use option, were in negotation with our supplier. However as you can imagine this will cause a admin nightmare and the systems are not in place yet but I am sure you will see it in the future !

What will take 1 week or less? The Sentech DNA sample approval process? Surely by buying a modem you should be almost guaranteed a username/password depending on a quick (normal length) credit check ie. we will let you know in 24 hours.. this waiting a week thing translates into Sentech finding some excuse not to give you the contract which is the whole point of buy the modem first (to avoid the weeks wait)

When I last spoke to Sentech, I asked about credit checks and unbundled, he said there should be none?

Wouldn't life be wonderful if all people were given the same info[xx(]

No there are no credit checks if you buy the unbundled version, however the username and passowrd take a week to come through, and yes we will buy back the unit at the sale price if you do not get your username and password within the week of purchase 7 Workign days. [:D]

But then according to Sentech, depending on the length of contact, you might only need to pay a % if you cancel for a legitimate reason?
 
Maybe i'm just being thick after having a few beers and it being late at night, but what exactly is the benifit of going with a reseller of the service ??? You are using sentechs support, bound to sentechs contract and using sentechs service !!! What benefits wiil people be getting going with a 3rd parth ????
 
If so, why do you buy a phone from MTEL and not MTN, as MTEL is a reseller of MTN, they offer diffrent services, benefits, discounts etc.

Dean, I have heard from Sentech support that if you choose to cancel then you will have to pay 70% of whats left of the contract. What I want to know is, lets just say that you cancel after one year. This means you owe R649 * 12 = R7788 so in theory you must pay R5452. Fine. Now do you get your modem to keep? What if you dont want the modem? Will you be refunded the 12 * R150 (ie. now only pay R7788-R1800 = +- R6000) or if you keep the modem can you sell it 2nd hand to someone wanting prepaid/short contract at say R2500? What will be the ruling in this situation.. please enquire

On the rental option from Sentech the modem never belogs to you, so even after the 2 year contract you will have to give the modem back, thats why I recomend buying the modem.

All along we have been told that you are paying the modem off over 24 months like a cell phone now suddenly its RENTAL? Can you verify this since this sounds a little unfair.. Even Sentech themselves said you will get a reduced rate after 24 months implying that thats when the modem is paid off..
