Our maid is voting DA

I am bringing back this thread after reading the results of my area. We had 2600 odd for the DA and 600 odd for the ANC. The were a number of domestics in the queue and it's my guess that the ANC count came from there. Whatever is being said by the houses is not happening in the booth is my guess. She was telling you what she thought you wanted to hear.

I have no problem, in fact I told my maid that she must just make sure she votes (she doesn't stay with us). It does not matter if it's for the ANC, COPE, DA or PAC. She said she was leaning towards COPE but it doesn't matter to me as long as she voted. My point was just that people should realise that they are probably being misled.
 
Yep, of course she voted ANC. In the old days blacks learned not to talk about what they believed politically with the white "baas". That has hardly changed. I remember in 1990 when I told my maid that I saw Mandela was going to be released she was like, "Mandela? I don't know who is Mandela". LOL
