Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, at the company I work at we have 4mb static ip uncapped ADSL with Internet Solutions. We send out numerous e-mails to clients with confirmations etc. It started off last year sometime where Gmail e-mails would go straight into spam and since then the problem has gotten much worse where we are being blocked by webmail, hotmail, yahoo etc.

There is a mailing system built into our ordering system as well as an exchange server. I've played around a bit now trying to isolate the problem, I've e-mailed through both the mailing system and the exchange server to numerous test accounts, all with the same results, we've tried changing smtp's on the mailing system with the same result. I've set up a seperate outlook account with an unrelated e-mail address and different smtp's and I still have the same result.

This leads me to believe that the IP we are on with our ADSL is blacklisted or blanket banned somewhere. I would like to know if my thinking or deduction on this is correct, or if anyone knows what the issue might be if it isn't that. The original smtp we were using was obviously smtp.isdsl.co.za for those that are wondering.

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated
Kind Regards

AFAIK you cant use smtp.isdsl.net on an uncapped line and have to have your own MTA pushing the mail.

Use this site to check if your static ADSL IP address has been blacklisted: http://www.robtex.com/rbl/

Chances are, you are blacklisted!!

Perhaps you should contact Internet Solutions and ask them to add your static ADSL IP address into the list of IP addresses which are allowed to relay mail through smtp.isdsl.co.za.

I believe that it will be very difficult and time consuming to have your IP address removed from the RBL blacklists.
