Its not my latency i had a ping of 370 ms.

I am i the only one?
Cant be becuase of slow pc i play games thats got 20 times better grapichs than wow.

Everybody is complaining about that after patch 2.3.2. I noticed a rather noticeable drop in fps all round as well.

Hopefully it gets fixed with the next patch.

Don't EVER use Shatt, unless it is to get the portals or to claim rep.
Everyone person playing wow has huge lag in Shatt ;)

I idle round 60fps as well in my 8800gts...

what Killove said !?!

fps of 90?
i have an 8800gtx and i get 60..
INFORM!
Like i said its unstable sometimes i get 60 too
and in shat it go as low as 20 ogrimar it sits around 35.
Dont think its got anything to do with how powerfull your mashine is?

Thx for feedback guys:D

Hmm, i reckon my machine is ok?

i can run Crysis on High with AA-16Q and achieve 30fps...

yet my pc wont go higher than 60fps, anywhere ingame
shatt takes it down to 40-45fps, in IF/SW its 50fps normally

Strange that you can't get over 60fps?
I get between 40-80fps on my 7950 card.
Some time back there were a problem with dual core pc's in that the fps could not go over 60fps, maybe a related issue? I use a dual core though so can't be that.

As for Shat and low fps, that is a known issue world wide. Actualy it is quite common in all online games with more than 100 people at the same place ;)

Might be a dual core issue tbh

ive got a amd 6000+ dual core, any1 know any resolutions to this fps issue?

I have a quad core 2.4 ..
if its possible to be getting 90fps i should be getting it!
never seen above 60!

If the game is not able to utilize a quad core it will be seen as one processor or in the worse case only use one of the processors...
Apperantly windows Vista is better at utlizing the full portential of dual cores? Not sure though, but people with single core processors have, as far as I remember, higher FPS in wow.

Lol even my crappy laptop not even my desktop get the same frames in Shat 20 but in uncrowded areas i get 60-90 on both.

Recent patch in WoW allowed it to utilize all the cores :

From the patch notes :
World of Warcraft Client Patch 2.3.0 (11/13/2007)
The latest patch of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade shows a benefit on today's popular multicore processors like the Intel(r) Core(tm)2 Duo processor family. The enhanced patch has demonstrated higher frame rates by spreading the work across both processor cores.

The truth is your OS still needs to distribute the work to your cores, and Vista as much as I hate it, is better suited towards quad core cpu's than XP. I cant say that I suffer any issues with FPS / Lag, and I have a Core 2 duo E6600, 2 gig ram and a Geforce 7800 GTX 512 meg vid card.
The patch did boost my FPS by around 10 / 12 FPS more.

Having FPS problems can be one of many things... most common reasons:
1 - Video card is not coping ... need stronger display card
2 - Insufficient ram - Anything less than 2 gig will cause major FPS issues in shattrah / orgrimar or heavily populated areas. Upgrading my ram made a massive improvement. I use to be on 1 gig. More ram, less chance of swapping to disk... less swapping = less Disk I/O. Disk I/O in mid game = stuttering / fps drop laggy behaviour.
If you have 2 or more gig ram, switch off your swapping completely. Doing this my performance increased as well.
3 - Network latency. Slow latency and buffering issues can attribute to laggy FPS. I went with a killernic which helped my FPS a lot, was quite noticeable.
4 - CPU performance, but thats not too common, unless you have a very old cpu.

There are areas in the game where you will get massive FPS drop, like eg. MH trashmob swarms when all the mages AOE blast like crazy, but other than that, you shouldn't really have any FPS issues if all of the above mentioned components are pretty much up to scratch and you dont have too many spyware apps running in the background.

with 2.3.0 my FPS also went up, and moving around in shatt was much smoother, but with 2.3.2 my FPS went for a ball again.

Fps

I have a core 2 duo 2.4 GHz with 2 Gig's of ram and a GeForce 8800GT Extreme XXX on top of that I have a 4mbps unshaped internet connection and I never get anything above 60 fps have also played on a SA server with latency of constant 40ms and still my fps stay on 60 so who the heck knows y?

Dual core AMD 4600+ and 2gb Corsair XMS RAM
ATI X800 XT 256mb

FPS:
Max: 75
Min: 20 (AV field of strife at the start of the match, but only for a few seconds)
Average: 55

Graphics maxed at x4 AA @ 1240 x 1024.

I must admit that after the latest patch, the game runs much smoother in Vista than it did before. I mean, in AV the FPS was so bad before the patch that I decided to install a fresh version of XP on another HDD solely to play WoW. But after the latest patch, there is no difference in performance between the XP and the Vista installation.

To the guys stuck at 60FPS, I notice you all have Nvidia cards. Perhaps there is some kind of FPS limiter in the driver settings? Anyway, 60FPS aint bad.

Sugest the official forums for that question. There have been lots of discussions surrounding dual cores and 60 fps cap. Like I said single core processors get easily over 60 fps...

So dude you get 55 is the lowest even in Shat
in AV i got no fps prob just in outlands its 37 most of time 80 max but only for few sec. weird in the original i always get 60-87 just in ogrimar if crowded it falls to 35.
But shat is 18-25 in crowded area.

Yeah, I can confirm that my fps is always at 60, no matter where I am, be it Shat, Org, or whatever. I have a decent PC (2GB RAM, dual-core, etc etc), with a 4MB unshaped connection. I've never tried tuning down the video settings, cause I've set them quite high but I prefer better graphical quality anyway.

Then something must be REALLY wrong in my area my friend has got a Quad core intel 4gig ram DDR 2 and 2 8800 Nividia 3D cards runing in SLI.
And he gets crap FPS in Shat and Ogri too.=20-30 fps in those places
i have seen it myself.I know whats in his masjien cause i helped build it.

Ill get my new PC next month at the moment i am runing a Petium 4 3600 mhz with with 4gig DDR ram
and one 7600 GT 3d card.
If your telling me the fps is about how fast your PC i can cancel my new pc cause i am getting same fps as him in someplaces.

And spend that money on ps3 lol.
