Hi.

I have looked online and most solutions do not collate with my problem so I am posting here in a deep seeded aspiration that one of you tech gurus have encountered this and have a solution.

Recently (in the past three days) when ever I reboot my laptop I get the following message:
To free up disk space Outlook Express can compact messages

ok or cancel

I do not use Outlook Express. In fact I have never opened Outlook Express. I have over 60Gb free space.

I am running windows xp sp3 which was a fresh and clean install this January.

I have no other problems besides a slow startup and shutdown but that is due to all the software I am required to run.

I have heard windows search can cause this problem which I have checked and can say is not part of the problem.

www.mozilla.com, download thunderbird and never use that piece of crap outlook rubbish again

That has to be the most annoying flippin thing i have ever come across, is that compacting BS.

I assume the problem goes away. How do I uninstal it?

Have you tried Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs (Might be under Windows components)

If it's not in there then try,

I don't have it installed as I ripped it out of my install cd with nLite and made a new one without lots of the crap that comes on it.
