Hey guys.

MS has done it again it seems. I have 2 clients who all of a sudden need identities :eek:to open Outlook express. It seems after the MS Windows XP & Vista updates there is a new thing. :(

Please if you have had this and have a solution hook me up

Hi

Windows Mail does not have identities like Outlook Express did.
By default, all email from all accounts goes into the same Inbox.
There are four different ways of changing that:

1. Use separate Windows user logins. That gives total privacy.

2. Use message rules to filter incoming messages into
separate folders.

3. Upgrade to Windows Live Mail which has separate folders for each
account, no rules needed: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

4. Purchase an add-on called WMIDs:
http://www.oehelp.com/WMIDs

Personally, I'd go for option 3, because unlike option 2, it also
segregates copies of sent emails.

and this might help as well.

See www.oehelp.com/WMIDs/ It is a replacement for the Identities feature
from OE that was removed with WinMail.

I copied this from a Vista help forum.

Good luck

The problem is my 1 user has Windows XP and using Outlook express. This never happened before. this morning all of a sudden it is popping up and they cannot USE  Express now.

I got past the Vista problem, the XP/Outlook Express is my nightmare.

my outlook express problem is that my sent emails have all vanished. every now and again outlook gives me a message to the effect that it needs to sort itself out as it needs space or something and it seems it deletes some files.

is this what happens?
