This is an odd one and cant say I have seen it before.

When looking in the Sent Items folder of Outlook all the To: addresses have an apostrophe (') preceding and ending an email address. Then there are some that DON'T have this apostrophe and they are not delivered to mail recipients and do not bounce back, any ideas please?

Looking at the Sent Items folder: (using examples)
'[email protected]' is fine and delivers itself to the recipient.
[email protected] does not deliver itself and does not bounce back either

Thanks in advance if anyone is able to explain this one :)

hey Saixbot,

Clear the users "names cache"
close Outlook + delete the users .n2k file + start Outlook again.

names/email addresses without the '' have been emailed before (either from an Outlook contact or from an Exchange global address list)

this will fix the issues.

Keep in mind you'll lose all your "working" email addresses - best write them down before doing this step ;)

You do get an NK2 editor that will allow you to remove the offending email addresses, while keeping the perfectly behaving ones in tact. Google it

Cool, first time I've heard of this :D

Gotta keep this in mind for the next time.

And yes, the nk2 carp also happened to me last year.

sweet, thanks for that shakes.

I never even thought of editing the file.
:-)

Thanks for the help, it worked ;)
Tried a few other tricks listed on the net but this did it.
