Outlook OST Files

Hey guys/gals

I am having a problem with opening an ost(orphaned) file. All the software I get to convert it to a pst file, you have to purchase. Microsoft don't want to help, cause they think it's not my ost file.

I have phoned data recovery guys and they charge R1250/ost file to convert it, but I can get the software online for about $50, but seing as this is a once of thing, I don't want to purchase it.

Any ideas that I can try? I have done a lot of googling, but nothing worked yet.

Had a look around and there doesn't appear to be anything free (that I could find) to recover OST files.

I'd say you have two options:

1. Consider a more dubious source to get the recovery software.
2. Pay up $$

Yip, It's seems that will be my only plan.

Can't even get cracked software...

bekdik, I don't need to repair the file, I need to open it and it seems the only way I can do that is to convert it to PST. I have found a free program, but it only works up till Office 2002. All the software that you can use with Office 2003 and up, you have to pay for.
