I decided to change my stock standard copper outside tap over the weekend and bought a dual outlet modern tap.

Problem is that I can’t get this thing to face down at all - no matter what direction I insert it, it always ends up pointing up.

Is there a tip?

Someone also mentioned that the new tap thread may be too long and needs to be cut down . Possible too?

Could put some thread tape on which might make it turn in less. Else thread tape and put a small spacer at the back.

(It's also disgusting that in 2022 people still have issues with upward facing taps)

I just go to Leroy or Builders and ask for a spacer?

I was thinking more just a plastic washer or whatever will fit in there to prevent it turning in so much. The added thread tape usually closes the gap in the thread caused by putting a spacer in.

I've got you !

Thanks !

loctite threadsealer or any thread sealer once dry the tap stays put .or use hessian hair and put it on thick so it turns in tight once dry the tap will stay at whatever angle you tightened it to ,usually off centre .or hessian and threadsealer if you use the cheaper ones by pratley (pratlock )
