Over 7,000 Solana wallets hacked

Hackers targeted the Solana ecosystem early Wednesday with thousands of wallets affected in the latest hit to the cryptocurrency market after bridge protocol Nomad was attacked at the start of the week.

While the total value of the assets stolen was unclear, four Solana wallet addresses drained approximately $8 million from victims, according to security firm PeckShield.

Ethereum and Ethereum Classic are both pretty much patched now, or less vulnerable to those exploits, though people should keep in mind that even the blockchain will have its zero-days. Attacks will continue to happen, and would need to be proactively monitored and mitigated.

It is more remarkable that Solana investors are taking the hit. Just like the last time... Neither is Solana certed though it isn't technically needed. Bridge exploits will remain common.

Yet, Solana is still holding out and people are continually purchasing Solana, never mind its big percentage which is staked.
