Overall best prepaid?

So I'm looking at moving to prepaid when my contract expires in May. I'd like to know who the best network is for prepaid. Since I make very few calls and send very few SMS the call rates aren't all that important but still don't want to be ripped off obviously. I'm mostly interested in who offers the best quality.

Of course, if anyone has had a good experience with a particular prepaid package I'd be interested in hearing about that.

Well, MTN and Vodacom both have the widespread decent networks and I rarely have issues on either. Both offer R1.20 per minute (2c per second) calls now on their prepaid, make sure on which product you are.

Telkom Mobile is even cheaper at 25c (on network) and 75c (to other networks) calls and roams on MTN when Telkom Mobile isn't available, so that should also have decent coverage.
 
Completely forgot about Telkom Mobile. I'd be interested to find out about people's experience with them.
 
What you should do, is get a old phone and a telkom sim, load it with some airtime and test it out at various places you likely to be. That is the only real way you will know if thier coverage works for you.

Great idea. I've got a couple of months so I can test it well. Plus I'm not porting so gives people time to change my number.
