Overclocking Geforce 9500 GT 1GB??

Hey guys

I recently got a Coolermaster scout case, so due to it having 3 120 MM fans i thought i would try to overclock my nvidia GeForce 9500 GT 1GB GPU, but being new to this overclocking thing im not shure that what im doing is correct.

I use the EVGA Precision overclocking tool, i normally cant run assassins creed 2 on full graphics on 1920x 1080 but since i have been overclocking like this it is running 100% Overclocking settings:

Core clock: 657 MHz
Shader clock: 1642 MHz (linked with core clock)
Memory clock: 420 MHz
Fan speed: 50 (auto)
GPU temp: 39-55 degrees C

Specs:
NVIDEA GeForce 9500 GT 1GB
Intel Core 2 Due E7400 @ 2.80 GHz
2Gigs of memory
250 GB HDD
Coolermaster Storm Scout

Are these settings 'good' for my GPU?? or do i have to decrease/increase something??

I would worry if the temps start hitting 80 degrees on low usage... that seems fine to me... You can be safe by adding extra cooling to the gpu... will cost you around R400 but will put your mind at ease. The big thing is watching the temps....

Exactly. Just watch your temperatures and check for artifacts, under stress. Furmark is ideal for this. I wouldn't spend R400 on cooling for that, might as well get a new GPU then.

The FPS gained from overclocking an already kuk gpu is really not worth it.

I've got a 9600GT which overclocks rather well but the 10fps or so I get is not worth shortening the life of the card.

No point overclocking a 9500gt. Rather sell it on gumtree and spend a bit more on a decent card.
