I have a pc at that has these specs
3.06ghz intel hyperthread.genuine one
2 gigs of ram
motherboard gigabyte ga-vm 800pmc this
Windows vista ultimate/xp MCE2005/ubuntu..tripleboot.
6200 geforce256ddr2( i think)

bus speed of mobo 533:(

Is there any way i can make this system faster with software.Overclock it:D
The bios does not give me much options in the hidden bios menus.I cant change voltage on the cpu and bus speed..etc

I tried easytune but it hangs most of the time in vista. In xp it shows greyed out buttons.

Can someone think hard and long about this as i tried many things but just cant seem to boost it a little.I tried clockgen and it worked but it worked only once:D:(.
I have a very good cooling system inside the case.I heard you can clock this type of cpu to 4ghz,but i really want to clock it to 3.1 or 3.5.If it burns out its fine,I need to get another dual core anyway.

This is my test pc so anything goes.Well what you guys say,any extreme measures:rolleyes:

If your motherboard bios doesn't give you many options, you might be stuck. Although you can still try some overclocking without messing about with the voltages.

Otherwise check if there isn't a newer, more overclocker friendly bios version that you can install.

if there's no hardware or software support, search for bsel pad mod for that cpu.

Its a socket 478 am I right? If its socket 775 i could help ;)
