Hi
I am keen to overclock my new rig that I might get some time soon. I was just wondering would it matter that much if I got separate cooling systems for my RAM and GPU's, ect. or would it not make much difference, keeping in mind I wont over clock it to much, and would liquid cooling be better.
Also do you think it would be worth it to get a new 780i chipset motherboard, when it comes to speed and over clocking and also upgrades that I might do in the future.
Thanks

What parts are you buying? If you're getting a Core 2 Duo, or especially the new 45nm CPU, then you can OC quite a bit on stock cooling. Also, depending on which graphics card you get, but if you can afford it, go for aftermarket cooling. Your RAM will probably come with heatsinks already, unless it's cheap RAM.

actually card its better to buy cheapish ram withoiut heatsink and put your own on :)

i bought my transend sticks with no heatsink, the first 2 gig where 1800 bucks and 2nd where 380 bucks six months later ahhaah plus 49 bucks for heatsinks

Agreed, and I wasn't at all suggesting that he should buy expensive RAM, I just assumed he'd probably be getting expensive RAM, because most people think that because they've got the best CPU and graphics, they should obviously get the best RAM. And that's why we (you) are here to help! :)
