Hi

This gremlin has returned. You can see my problems with it here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?p=748040#post748040 and most recent problem here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=56317.

Unfortunately I was having problems with anti-pirating software with GRAW so I downloaded the no-cd patch. It worked untill I noticed the FPS starting to drop. Thinking it was overheating again I loaded 3dMark but the scores come back fine. Puzzled I found another DVD rom that worked with GRAW and formated my hard drive. My thinking then was it could be the no-cd patch. I re-installed everything but alas the same problems occurred. Ran 3D Mark again no problems. So I lowered the graphics settings and I got barely playable FPS. Now today I loaded GRAW and the FPS really went down hill. Loaded 3D Mark again and this time got very bad results.

So now I'm:confused: . What could be causing the overheating this time. Maybe the extra DVD rom. Maybe I just need a new case.

Maybe I should go and take the whole piece of cr*p and throw it away.

I cleaned all the dust out a month ago. It normally only needs to be cleaned every 3 or more months.

Dont splurge too much, the one guy I helped had after he got a R1000 case and still had a too hot P4 3GHz.

Look for something that can take 12cm fans front and back and preferably at the side too. Even the cheap sahara cases (without the front USB ports) can do that now.

Hey I got one of those. Brought it as a special for R107.
Got 4 fans, two in front, 1 at side and 1 at back. All 12cm ones.
Brought it from Suntec
They're here in JHB somewhere~

I got an exellent idea for cooling.Build pressure inside your case.seal of airholes with butyle putty.an reverse a fan on top of the box.You will be amased, but its a messy job.Hope this helps as i did this to a car that i customised, due to amps boiling inside the boot
