I am using a LG RD-JT90 projector in a rented lecture hall to present courses. The projector is mounted 50 cm below the ceiling. Aircon is always on. Usually after 1 hour projection it switches off, can be revived again after 10 minutes wait, lasts half an hour, cuts out, etc etc. My courses last 5 hours, so things do not work out.

Obviously the projector is overheating. It looks quite clean inside: no fluff blocking the air vents. The resident technician claims that the projector is not designed for such continuous use and I must supply my own projector, which I prefer not to do if I can help it. CAN HE BE RIGHT?? Is there something else to look for in the projector? A good technician in Pretroia to inspect it?

Thanks

how do you know that there's no fluff in the air vents? have you opened it up?
you might need to clean the air filters with compressed air. this should be done every couple of months, or more frequently depending on environment and usage.
you could also try upping the fan speed in the settings if the model supports it.
