Overheating to 40°C

Hey,

My HTC Desire S, is overheating, I have always thought it gets quite hot but after installing the Battery Gauge, I see this is way too high. Usually happens after I play a game or two. Any recommendations? Could the battery be defect?

My S3 hits 40 sometimes just using Tapatalk and Chrome.

No, it's normal. Your high cpu usage warms your battery up.

If you play a game on your phone, it will get hot.

My S2 gets hot when I watch DSTV Drifta on it, or play a game.

Obviously phones don't have the cooling solutions of modern laptops and desktops, so it's understandable.

The culprit is most likely the GPU, not CPU.

Desire S has Adreno 205 GPU. Do some reading and see if heating up is cause for concern.

40c shouldn't be a concern. It's fairly normal for heavy usage...

Its all the kak and bs you speak. They have a built-in sensor which heats up the device in direct response to twaddle, gossip and innuendo. For regular conversations in English it remains normal

OK tx, for the help. Can I still use it when it gets so hot or should I give it some rest. What is the maximum heat it should be on basically.

And I was worried about my Defy going to 50 degrees when using the hotspot option

40 degrees is nothing man

My S1's battery died on me when I had a business trip in Mauritania earlier this year. 42 degrees ambient, zero humidity. Two days in the Sahel and my battery-life dropped to 5 hours.
