Overtaking

The reason for the guy to over take me is because my car is tiny and he wouldn't allow a small car to be in front of him. I was shocked this guy has a nerve. It's not like I was driving like a granny.

Hahahahaha he came to me we both stopped at the garage to fill up, that is when he came to me and told he said he has seen me around.

I guess if you don't drive vrrrr phaaaa you not allowed to be in the road.
 
The same reason why the cars are not factory limited at 120km/h for South Africa
 
Stop beating around the bush , what car do you drive and what car did the other douche drive ?
 
He still had his learners sticker on a couple of months ago. So he probably is driving like a granny. He just doesn't know it

If the rules of the road were followed you shouldn’t have been in the way in the first place.

It’s also very likely the 120km/h indicated in the Brio is more like 100km/h.

Someone here said it does not mean if you have Learner sign, you can't drive maybe you are teaching someone at home to drive. When you go out run to the shop you can't take out the Learner sign because you are afraid people will think you can't drive. So when you see someone in the road with Learner sign don't assume that person can't drive.

Easy actually. Some people do drive slower than they think. 120 on one cars speedometer is not 120 on another cars. Also, I'd rather be driving infront than drive behind and put myself in a sticky situation.

A driver that doesn't look in their mirrors and that moves about is very unpredictable and dangerous.
 
Don't bother trying to understand SA drivers. We're generally a lawless, aggressive bunch and each tosser has his/her own interpretations of the rules.

Basically drive defensively if you want to travel safely. Expect the people around you to do stupid stuff at any moment. Minimum of a 2 second following distance, increase it for taxis or any car with an 'L' in their rear window. Leave the fast lane for the oxygen-starved people driving SUVs, double cabs and German luxury vehicles.

All of my cars speedometers differ on opinion when it comes to 120kph :o

Logically, if the driver in front of me gets caught by me and we are both doing "fast normal speed" then he/she is inconsistent in the handling of the car.
They should see someone gently catching them and move aside (see the passing lane thread) or drive more consistently so as not to be caught by the traffic behind them.

Yes, we do judge cars on the road by ability.
A small car does not have power on tap, while they may manage to hit 120km/h it's a lot more work for the vehicle to maintain that speed and consistently so.
A poorly maintained vehicle is often the sign of a poor driver.

Most importantly, a vehicle in front of me means that that vehicle could suddenly become the obstacle I crash into because of a mistake they made, whereas a large distance between myself and cars ahead = a lot less risk

The margin of error on a BMW's speedometer is about 1% whereas most other cars its almost 10%. Also the tolerance for speeding fines at 120 means you will only start getting a fine if you drive over 129km/h. e.g. a guy driving 120 (actually 110km/h) will think a person driving 127km/h is speeding even though he is still within the allowed tolerance. So its actually the guy in the slow car breaking the law and not the speedster, therefor Keep left pass right.
