OVHD on IS20

Just got off the phone with Space TV they selling the decoder for R640 will pop into their store later on today.... They already have instructions on how to add IS20 to the decoder.

Which Space TV branch?

How many unencrypted channels did you manage to find - care in sharing.. Awesome news hopefully Ellies will push another update to allow transponder not to be locked.

I found a lot of unencrypted channels, but mostly cr*p not worth watching.

Looks as if there is more usable stuff on the original satellite (which my dish won't pick up).

If it's for free we shouldn't complain better than SABC surely. Original satellite? Explain please I am confused

Originally it was only on SES 5, which is in a different position to the satellite used by DSTV, so you needed a different dish.

You can still uses SES 5 if you want to, and I believe that there are more alternative channels there (eg soccer in French).

Now Openview is on IS20, the same satellite as DSTV, so you can use your old DSTV dish.

@jola will let you know later on today once I arrive home if your theory is correct about more channels on SES5 according to my understanding it was mostly religious channels Qunton did post the transponders last year if I recall. .....

If anyone wants to purchase Ellies decoder for R500 let me know please will include courier.

Morning all,

Though id give all the installers / techies a heads up, OVHD will be publicly available on the IS20 (DSTV) satellite as of the 1st of November 2014, but space TV boxes can pick it up already:-)

Here is the Data for the new downlink freq on IS20:

Freq: 11170 mhz
Pol: Verticle
Symbol Rate: 28 750 Bd

Mr. Rob

Hi,do you have the fec (1/2,3/4 etc)setting for the above frequency settings?
Thanks

Hi. New to the Forums.

I just want to know if I can use a standard DSTV decoder and just add the frequency in advanced settings or do I need to get another decoder?

Thanks

This is worth adding for the radio stations, nothing worthwhile on the TV stations though:

11674 V 28800

Going out to get a couple open view decoders tomorrow. R499 on special. Anything I need to know about hooking it up to my existing dstv dish.

I have easy view for SABC and E. So this sounds like a great deal.

Hi guys, I have bought the openview HD decoder which the Ellies brand at R499. Before I open it, please let me know if later on I will be able to use one dish for both dstv and Openview. If not then I will return this unit and search for the spacetv unit.

Does anyone know if the OVHD decoder Game is selling for R499 is the Ellie's or SpaceTV model?

Also approx how many channels is it possible to pick up using the SpaceTV model?

last I saw it is/was the ellies.

think it is 12+ channels

and you need to aleeady have a dish.
plug your dstv's cables into ovhd decoder. Else you need to pay to have a dish installed.

Which model is this? Saw kT at makro today and they said it just came in... uploadfromtaptalk1433866655789.jpguploadfromtaptalk1433866655789.jpg
