Sitting here at 4am downloading a 64mb file at a whopping 15kB/s.

It's pathetic.

I would use my adsl if it wasn't for the fact that I still have 3GB to kill on iBurst before the end of the month.

It's sickening that you have to pay R899 per month for an unusable service.

This isn't a new issue either.

My 512k adsl has clearly spoilt me. You should be ashamed of yourselves iBurst.

Just got back from a week in Greece where you pay 32 Euros (around R 416) per month for 24 MB ADSL Speed with UNLIMITED downloads.

Shows you just how far behind we really are..................

Free Download Manager FTW!!! :D:D:D:D

We have to thank the Grim Narcoleptic Poisonous Creeper for the sad state of affairs.

iBurst seems to have a lack of backhaul bandwidth, during Office Hours my connection dies, currently in the high 900 Kbps'... (CPT CBD)

usually when softcapped I can open iburst.co.za at lightning fast speeds now it also takes 10 minutes to open that feking site!

Phoned the helpdesk and all they telling me is my router is the one causing the slow downs... 1 Gbps speed is the route of all slowdowns for any site not opening within 10 minute... great fek!

And they would have us believe that their helpdesk staff are properly trained and effective.........

iBurst, you just keep covering yourself in glory don't you. But then how can we expect properly trained people to man the HD when the management are inept?

On Sunday the iBurst network was slower than a snail on weed.... I tried to phone them they kept putting me on hold - nobody to answer the phones...

effective at blurting out **** that doesn't even cover the error...

I mean come on WebSite INCLUDING IBurst.co.za loads after 10 minute surely means some problem with network yet he kept telling me that I'm capped 64k and that could be the reason why the site is slow. I've experience 64k cap and the iburst site NEVER EVER TAKES longer than 1 second to load! So he changes his response to oh it's your router it's causing a slow response to websites... sigh*

Usually, when the "staff" at the Helpdesk don't know the answer to something, they have a habit of accusing you for the problem. The problem is NEVER on their side when something is wrong that they don't know about.

This is because the people are hired with little or no experience and virtually no training.

The blame for this rests solely at the managements feet.

This is the same management that ignores clients and allows for theft of clients money through erroneous and cancelled debit orders.

+1 to that.

Problem is that they do not and will not take responsibility for anything.

Jhbgirl - in relation to the actual tpoic of this thread, try a download manager called Instantget. Worked pretty well for me. ;)

Try a downloadmamager like freedownloadmanager Google for Free Download Manager, and set up multiple connections, but ONLY
1. If the site allows resumes.
2. If the site allows multiple connections. Some sites threaten their
users with NOT using multiple connections or they will ban your IP range.

download managers actually are giving the same crappy snail speeds, i used flashget, as well as megamanager on megaupload both with a 8-10 kbps speed down,

sorry jhbgirl, im in ur threads, jackin it for myself, lol

anyway, jhbgirl, have you done a speedtest already?
