I got an sms today from Vodacom saying that my free VoLTE service got activated but I'm not sure how to enable it or if it is really activated. There's no icon on my notification bar that shows this and enabling wifi calling from the settings doesn't seem to affect it.

Mine has been active for a bit over a month.

I looked on the www how to disable it. Ironically my (Vodacom) Samsung P8 phone does not list those options.

I suspect they want up up our data consumption, since data does not expire automatically anymore.

Not alowing me to disable this, is in the least, very unsporting of them. I am pissed off.

I don't think yall understand what Voice over LTE is.
What it essentially means is that any voice call made will be made on the 4G network instead of the 2G and 3G network.
You just get a better quality call and the ability to use data while in a call as well.
Its not going to use your data.

Correct, it's for better quality calls - HD - and should connect quicker - it doesn't require a handover from 4g to 3g. It will only work if you are in a 4g areaa
