On the 27th of October 2008 South Africans will be able to enjoy the benefits of having its very own dedicated DC Hub for sharing files over the internet. DC Hubs allow users to establish P2P connections with one another and initiate file transfers. The hub will be available to South Africans only, meaning all p2p transfers will be utilizing lighning fast local bandwidth, and will be available even when users are internationally capped. A facebook group has been created named "South Africa's first DC++ Hub - P2P Network" and those who join the group will receive the new hub address on the 27th of October. The reason for this approach is to ensure that the Hub starts off having enough users and enough content to make it worth everyones while to stay on it and start sharing, please promote the group wherever you can before the 27th of October and help make this initiative take off. Please support the facebook group and invite others to join as this will be the medium of communication before the official site is up and running.

South Africa's first DC++ Hub? Has someone been living under a rock?

Also how long before it has ridiculous rules such as, always give moderators (or whatever) an open slot when they want one etc. Local South African P2P options turn out to be little more than an ego trip for a few people, it's so bad it's embarrassing just knowing about how they carry on.

The only worthwhile South African P2P network would be one that's decentralised, that way a few "leet" speaking idiots don't ruin something that could be very useful.
