Hi guys, was tinkering with my motherboard settings , trying to overclock my Q6600. Had lots of failed boot attemtps etc. Then I read a thread which said that maybe a BIOS update will help. So I upgraded the BIOS from version 0401 to 1301. Now I'm having a problem. The PC take almost 10 minutes to boot to windows and the BIOS itself is extreamly slow. Is this normal? (i think not) Everything else seems to work just fine tho. Also I can't seem to downgrade the BIOS. it gives me a strange error: ."The downgraded ROM file is not suitable for the system"
What now? any ideas?

seems motherboard is gone :( Now what's a good replacement for it, guarantee lasts only 1 year mobo is 2 years old. was looking at getting the ASUS P5KPL-AM for around R 500 bucks. anything else anyone can recommend? Budget approximately R1k
Running the following setup: Q6600, GTX 275 AMP! 4Gb RAM 600w PSU

Sure you cannot fix the MB?

Gigabyte G31 MB is good. I lapped my Q6600 and can overclock it via EasyTune6 to at least 3.1GHz

not sure what else I can do. Pc takes almost 30mins to get into windows, I've tried flashing bios back to 0401 but EZ flash won't let me! so I guess I'm stuck with a messed up motherboard?

If something was broken I don't think it would post at all. The fact that it is slow seems to indicate something wrong with the settings etc. Reset to factory defaults and run through all your bios settings.

I've reset bios by removing battery, and by starting pc with no cpu. I've removed all components including PSU, and replaced them with different ones, all the time I get the same result. getting into the bios as well takes about 20 mins. Bios also is very slow, I have to wait like a minute to change between bios screens. It seems like replacing the mobo is easiest. Afaik.

PC no longer boots.......:( motherboard is now really dead.... Whats a good replacement? Need one urgently, what do you guys think of the P5KPL-AM SE R432 from PCint, I'll probably pop in later today?
