Hey Everyone

My company (family Business) is currently looking at upgrading our PABX system in order to accommodate more extensions. We currently have an 8 extension setup with 2 incoming ISDN lines and separate ADSL and Fax lines. Currently we Rent the setup from Telkom. Our bill in total for the whole lot is about R5500 a month (Including calls), with most calls being made to cell phones.

We have had about 6 quotes done to date, but with all the different terminology and products available it is very difficult to find a clear winner.

Basicaly what we are looking for is:
A 16+ extension PABX / VOIP system
Premicell (Not sure if thats the proper name)
Cut costs

Can anybody suggest a good company to use, good customer service and good rates. We have expanded a lot and need to have this put in before the end of the year. Any help that you guys have would be greatly appreciated. Essentially we are not looking to buy the setup because of leases etc, it will be easier for us to rent on a contractual basis.

Thanx so much :D

Cheers Nick

Siemens as well, don't touch a Nortel system.

There are Linux IP solutions out there but the skills to maintain them are very scarce.

Contacted you

Hi guys. I know this is a bit late but I only saw this posting now. I am from CPC Plus. Did you come right or can someone contact you regarding VoIP and PBX services.

Contact Bizcall for a Asterisk system, they do offer support as well.

PS. I ran a large Nortel Switch, good product. The support sometimes a bit lacking.

Apparently our current system could be upgraded via simple expansion card.... Which a company we all love to hate "forgot" to mention. So we managed to expand the capabilities in terms of extensions via the expansion card.

Then in order to cut cost we have gone with HUGE telecoms who are providing use with the Cell phone / Land line splitting equipment and outgoing number for that.

So essentially we have stayed with our current PABX and incorporated a "primicell" component. It may not be the cheapest at the moment, but the current premises we are in are quickly getting to small with all the power issues we are all experiencing, so I felt it would be easier or at least the lesser of two evils to stick with what works for now and when we move into something of our own or something with a more long term lease then we will consider all the additional options in terms of VOIP and IP phones.
