Pace 921 VNX and QoS: Is it possible? PLEASE HELP

Hello all

As a gamer, I have that problem of sharing a line with others. Now, my router (as stated above) is a Pace 921 VNX. I have a 20mb VDSL line, but the router doesn't seem to deal with multiple users well.

I want to set up QoS but there are no settings available for it in the router set up page. So I did some googling and discovered Tomato etc.

My only concern is... can I install this kind of firmware on the router without breaking the router? This is an obvious concern for me... has anyone got a similar/ the same router, and tried this?

Any advise, other than... go and buy a QoS enabled router?

Get a Mikrotik (Like a 941) and set up queuing. It's gonna be your best bet.

You might be able to do it with SSH on the existing firmware if you can find the setting to change. These refer:

PS, just looked through my old log files for when I was changing settings on the Pace, and this looks like the setting you would be interested in:

LANEthernetInterface_1_QosEnable = [0]

Other settings relating to QOS are as follows:
LANEthernetInterface_1_Port_1_QOS_DefaultTrafficClass = [0]
LANEthernetInterface_1_Port_1_QOS_ClassifyMode = [None]
LANEthernetInterface_1_Port_1_QOS_TCQueueMapping_List = []

These go up to port_11

Further:
LANEthernetInterface_1_SwitchQOS_QueueScheduling_List = []
LANEthernetInterface_1_SwitchQOS_DSCPClassification_List = []
LANEthernetInterface_1_SwitchQOS_PCPClassification_List = []
LANEthernetInterface_1_SwitchQOS_PCERule_List = []

LANEthernetInterface_2_QosEnable = [0]

There are a few others, but I would start with the first one as that should be pretty easy to change via SSH
