Pace Router Woes

Hey all ...


I really hope I can get some advice here ... Either I am just plain retarded or the router I use sucks beyond all belief (from what I can tell no one really likes the Pace router but anyway)


I am currently looking at limiting the speed or bandwidth allocation that the WIFI users on my network receive as my room mate connects via wireless and drains my bandwidth speed completely with his downloads and streaming.


I am either looking to limit his speed so he can get less done or limit the amount of usable bandwidth (ie: set him a 1gb allowance)


Is there a way to do this with the pace router or will I have to drop R3k+ on a fancy router ?

Hey,

Most routers have a very basic firewall and will most likely not support this feature, to do this you would need a more advanced type firewall like a Cisco or a Linux based firewall.
