Recently I've been experimenting with using my HTC Desire S and Tethering to provide my laptop with alternate internet access.
This has been spurred by the following:
So, right now I'm using my ADSL for downloading and trying to use my HSDPA for playing games.
The only problem is that I seem to get regular, variable packet loss on HSDPA :-(
Generally I can play fine for a minute or two and then suffer about 5-15 seconds of packet loss.
Small amounts of packet loss are much much more bearable than a steady 800ms ping though.
Still, it would be nice if I could solve the packet loss issue.
Does anyone have any ideas?

- My ADSL Account with Axxess is suffering from awful latency. 500ms for the 1st hop, 250ms of that comes from a congested exchange, the other 250ms from the new backbone. A server in the US adds another 200ms of latency, making connections there unbearbly laggy.
- By comparison, using my Desire S to connect provides very very good latency. A ping of 300ms to the US, which is pretty damn good!
