PAGAD calls for Burger King Probe

I wonder if islam prohibits the ownership of a casino, or a food outlet that serves pork.
My idea my be out of kilter, but I would imagine it may be permissible, provided the muslim owner does not eat what is produced in the food outlet, or goes not gamble in the casino.
Can any muslim folk here clarify this ?

CAPE TOWN - People Against Gangsterism and Drugs (Pagad) on Friday called on the Islamic Council of South Africa to investigate whether the certification of fast food giant Burger King is valid.
The organisation raised concerns that the franchise owner is affiliated to a local casino.
According to Pagad, Islamic law would prevent people from buying food from the fast food outlet.
Owner Hassen Adams is also the chairperson of Grand Parade Investments Limited which is a stakeholder in a Cape Town casino.
Pagad's Abdullah Salie said they were not questioning the ingredients used at Burger King because their problem was not with the restaurant itself.
Burger King opened its doors in Cape Town on May 9.
It will branch out to other provinces in 2014.

When Allah forbids a thing, He also forbids helping with it in any way.

So it is not permissible to work in a casino because of what it involves of helping others in sin. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Help you one another in Al‑Birr and At‑Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment”

It is Haram.

A muslim my not own, or be involved in a business that profits from gambling or from selling pork.

In the strictest interpretation of the scriptures, I would assume yes. The Muslim would be required to help the gardener to stop gambling.

Totally.. if he has no idea, then it doesn't count... but if he finds out that the money he pays is used for gambling, then he should do something to try and sort it out, if he is a good Muslim.
