painting palisades

Apart from using nondrip gloss for palisades, would it be ok to use roof paint?

Have about 100m of palisade to paint, doing the math and using a dulux or similar non drip gloss is going to be way to costly. Thinking of using roofpaint

roofpaint +- R600 for 20l,
non drip gloss +- R350 for a 5 litre

Suggestions?

I have painted mine with roofpaint about 6 years ago and except for a few spots where I didn't do a good job it's still sealed fine.

thans mate. Going to try it out tomorrow, bought some red oxide to patch up some rust spots after they sand it away. And very likely to build a boundary wall after 3 or 4 years so hopefully this works out fine
